5 TIPS TO PREPARE FOR YOUR HEADSHOT SESSION

So your Headshot Session is coming up, or your thinking about booking a session with us.  Here are 5 quick tips to make the most of your session and create better images.

  1. Dress to Impress

You need to make sure you are wearing clothes that are complimenting to you, and your face specifically.  Don’t wear something too loud as it will distract from you

  1. Make sure your procedures are done way in advance of your session

I know you want to clean up before your shoot, but make sure beauty procedures such as eyebrows and even a hair cut are done a day or two before your session so your skin has time to heal and doesn’t show tan lines or redness

  1. Drink plenty of water the night before

It is a proven fact that hydrating can not only provide you with cleaner skin, but also can help rejuvenate you.  Both are essential in making great images in the future.

  1. Know what out you need

Have an idea of what your new headshot’s intended purpose will be.  While you certainly can use this headshot for a number of different uses knowing what it’s main goal will help to get that shot.  Our default for headshot is a horizontal white background, and the top of your head will be slightly cropped to create a more stunning composition.  If you need anything different just let us know

  1. Relax!

I know this may seem like common sense however the second a camera gets in front of most people you can literally watch a person’s comfort level change.  The reason we schedule longer shoots is so you have time to warm up to the camera.  This is just a shot of your head so one of the most important parts of this process is making sure we are getting a great expression that not only shows who you are, but also is stunning and inviting to the viewer.
